One real repair, start to finish

From gash to gloss.

A hole in the bow of a center console, photographed in the shop at every stage.

  1. 01

    The damage

A gash torn through the gelcoat and into the glass on the bow.

  2. 02

    Behind the hole

The damage is opened up and checked from the inside, behind the hole.

  3. 03

    New glass

Fresh fiberglass is laid in and built back up to the shape of the hull.

  4. 04

    Faired smooth

Filled, sanded and blocked until the curve of the bow runs true again.

  5. 05

    Gelcoat sprayed

The hull is masked off and new gelcoat is sprayed over the repair.

  6. 06

    Gloss again

Sanded, buffed and back on the trailer, with the bow looking whole again.

We had a difficult problem with our camper refrigerator box that no one could figure out how to fix and recommended that we just replace the refrigerator… They felt that they could fix it and they did. They had to be creative with a solution… and the quality of their work was outstanding, making it look brand new.

Questions

Before you tow it in.

Can you match my gelcoat color?

Call with the boat’s make and year, and send photos if you can. Color matching and custom color are a big part of what the shop does.

Do you only work on boats?

Mostly boats, but not only. One customer brought in a camper refrigerator box that other shops said couldn’t be fixed, and it came out looking brand new.

My floor feels soft. Is that a problem?

A soft floor usually means rot underneath. The shop tears out rotted floors and rebuilds them solid, so it’s worth having it looked at.

When are you open?
